Description

The QFX5120 is a fixed 1U data centre leaf switch from Juniper, built for top-of-rack 25GbE server access in spine-and-leaf fabrics. This model, QFX5120-48Y, runs Junos OS and can also act as an L3 gateway between virtualised and bare-metal servers.

It provides 48 SFP28 downlink ports that accept 25G, 10G and 1G optics, plus eight QSFP28 uplinks for 100G or 40G connectivity. Bidirectional throughput is 4 Tbps with 2 Bpps forwarding capacity, and a 2.2 GHz quad-core Intel CPU with 16 GB DRAM and a 50 GB SSD handles the control plane. This SKU is the AC-powered, back-to-front (AFI) airflow variant with two hot-swappable 650W AC power supplies in a 1+1 arrangement and five hot-swappable fan modules with 4+1 redundancy. Maximum power consumption is 283W.

The platform takes SFP28, SFP+ and SFP optics on the downlinks and QSFP28 or QSFP+ optics on the uplinks. The power supply model is JPSU-650W-AC-AI and the fan module is QFX5110-FANAFI. Virtual Chassis supports up to 2 devices.
