Description

The HF6100-60L4D is a cloud-managed 1RU data centre switch from the Cisco 6000 Hyperfabric range, built on the Cisco Silicon One Q200 ASIC. It is designed for top-of-rack and leaf roles in Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric fabrics, using EVPN/VXLAN in spine-leaf or mesh topologies, and suits teams that want cloud-managed design, deployment and operations without deep networking expertise.

The switch provides 60 x 1/10/25/50G SFP56 ports and 4 x 40/100/200/400G QSFP-DD ports, with breakout support. Switching capacity is up to 12.8 Tbps with an 8 Bpps forwarding rate. It carries 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of flash, and has dual PSU slots (1+1) and six fan slots (5+1) for redundancy. This is the drop-ship, configurable hardware-only SKU (-D), and it does not include a Hyperfabric subscription.

Every switch connected to the Hyperfabric Cloud Controller needs a valid Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric subscription, ordered separately. Power supplies are the C9K-PWR-1500WAC or C9K-PWR-1500WDC, and fans are the C9500X-FAN-1U-R or C9500X-FAN-1U-F.

FAQs

Q: Does this switch need a subscription?
A: Yes. Every switch connected to the Hyperfabric Cloud Controller needs a valid Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric subscription. This -D SKU is hardware only and does not include one, so the subscription is ordered separately.

Q: Which power supplies and fans does it use?
A: It has two PSU slots for 1+1 redundancy, supporting the C9K-PWR-1500WAC (AC) or C9K-PWR-1500WDC (DC). Fans are the C9500X-FAN-1U-R (port intake) or C9500X-FAN-1U-F (port exhaust).

Q: How does the -D SKU differ from the other HF6100-60L4D variants?
A: The -D SKU is the drop-ship, configurable hardware-only part with no subscription. The -S is static fixed hardware, the -SVC-D is a bundle linked to a subscription, and the -SVC is a subscription only.

Q: Can I use 1G optics in the SFP56 ports?
A: Yes, the 60 SFP56 ports support 1/10/25/50G, but 1G modules need a specialised 10-to-1 PHY-enabled SFP.

Q: Does the QSFP-DD port support breakout?
A: Yes, the switch supports breakout. Check the Cisco TMG matrix for the supported transceivers and breakout options.
