Description

The HF6100-64ED-S is a 2RU Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric switch built for high-density IP fabric leaf and spine roles in data centre and AI/ML fabrics. It is managed through the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller, with zero-touch provisioning and support for spine-leaf and mesh topologies.

It provides 64 OSFP ports supporting 100G, 200G, 400G and 800G speeds, powered by the Cisco Silicon One G200 ASIC. Switching capacity is up to 51.2 Tbps with a 20 Bpps forwarding rate. Out-of-band management is handled by a 1G RJ45 Ethernet port, an RS-232 RJ45 console and a USB-C port, and a single 10G/25G QSFP28 port is reserved for Punt Injection Ethernet. An 8-core Intel Broadwell CPU and 64 GB of DDR4 memory run the embedded OS. This is the static hardware-only SKU, so a Nexus Hyperfabric subscription is ordered separately.

The chassis takes two 3000W high-voltage AC/DC power supplies in a 1+1 arrangement and four fan modules in a 3+1 cooling layout. Supported transceivers are listed in Cisco's TMG Matrix for the HF6100-64ED.

Q: Does the HF6100-64ED-S include a software licence?
A: There is no separate software licence, as the embedded OS is updated by the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller. This SKU is the hardware-only static PID, and a Nexus Hyperfabric subscription is required for each switch connected to the controller. The subscription is ordered separately under HF6100-64ED-SVC-S.

Q: What power supplies does it use?
A: It takes two PSU3KW-HVPI 3000W high-voltage AC/DC power supplies in a 1+1 redundant arrangement. AC input is 90-264Vac at 47-63Hz and DC input is 240-380Vdc.

Q: How is it managed?
