Description

The HF6100-60L4D is a cloud-managed 1RU data centre fabric switch from the Cisco 6000 Series, part of Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric. It is built for top-of-rack and leaf roles in Hyperfabric EVPN/VXLAN fabrics, including spine-leaf and mesh topologies, with 10/25/50G server access and 400G uplinks.

The switch provides 60 SFP56 ports running at 1/10/25/50G and 4 QSFP-DD ports running at 40/100/200/400G, with port breakout supported. It is based on the Cisco Silicon One Q200 ASIC and delivers up to 12.8 Tbps switching capacity and 8 Bpps forwarding rate. This variant uses an AC power supply and port-exhaust airflow, with two power supply slots in a 1+1 arrangement and six fans for 5+1 redundant cooling.

The switch is provisioned and managed through the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller with zero-touch provisioning. There is no separate software licence, but every switch connected to the controller needs an active Hyperfabric subscription. Pluggable optics should be selected from the Cisco TMG matrix.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: Does this switch need a software licence?
A: There is no separate software licence. Every switch connected to the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller requires an active Hyperfabric subscription, and all switches in a fabric must use the same subscription tier.

Q: What happens if the Hyperfabric subscription expires?
A: The switch continues to operate with its last-known configuration if the cloud controller is unreachable or the subscription lapses.

Q: Which power supplies does it use?
A: It has two power supply slots in a 1+1 arrangement. Supported options are the C9K-PWR-1500WAC (1500 W AC, 90-264 Vac) and the C9K-PWR-1500WDC (1500 W DC, -40 to -72 Vdc).

Q: Which optics can I use in the SFP56 and QSFP-DD ports?
A: Pluggable optics should be selected from the Cisco TMG matrix for HF6100-60L4D. The SFP56 ports support 1/10/25/50G, and 1G operation requires a specialised 10-to-1 PHY-enabled SFP.

Q: Can it be used as a spine switch?
A: No. This model supports leaf, mesh, border and standalone roles in Hyperfabric EVPN/VXLAN fabrics, but not the spine role.

Q: How is the switch managed?
A: It is managed through the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller using Chrome 70+, Firefox 62+ or Edge 94+. Out-of-band access is available through the RJ45 management port, RJ45 console and USB-C port.
