Description

The Nexus 9300-SE1 is a 2RU fixed data-centre switch built on the Cisco Silicon One E100 ASIC. It is designed for leaf and spine deployments, VXLAN EVPN fabrics, IP Fabric for Media and AI/ML network fabrics where high port density and wire-rate encryption matter.

This variant provides 48 x 1/10/25G SFP ports and 48 x 1/10/25/50G SFP56 ports for downlinks, with 12 x 40/100G QSFP28 uplinks. Total bandwidth is 9.6 Tbps with a forwarding rate of 2.304 Bpps. MACsec is supported on all ports. It is powered by a 6-core CPU with 32 GB of default memory, expandable by a further 32 GB, and a 128 GB SSD. The system buffer is 64 MB. Management is through 1 RJ-45 and 1 SFP management port, a USB port and an RS-232 serial port.

It runs Cisco NX-OS from release 10.6.2. Hot-swappable N+1 power supplies and fans are supported, with 1400W AC, 2000W DC and 2000W HVAC/HVDC options, in port-side intake or port-side exhaust airflow. Compatible PSUs include NXA-PAC-1400W-PI, NXA-PAC-1400W-PE and NXA-PDC-2KW-PI, and the fan trays are NXASFAN-160CFM2PI and NXASFAN-160CFM2PE.

A: It runs Cisco NX-OS, and the default software provides a Layer-2 security and management feature set. Layer-3 IP unicast and multicast routing and Cisco Nexus Data Broker need additional licences, available as subscription or perpetual in Essentials, Advantage and Premier tiers.
