Description

The Arista 7280RA is a fixed-configuration 1RU data centre switch router from the 7280R Series. It is built for leaf, top-of-rack and spine roles, as well as Layer 2 and Layer 3 cloud designs, VXLAN overlay networks, internet peering and inter-DC interconnect where deep buffers and large routing tables matter.

This model provides 48 wire-speed 100M/1G/10GBASE-T RJ45 ports plus six 100GbE QSFP100 uplinks, each configurable as 100, 50, 40, 25 or 10GbE. Switching throughput is 2.16 Tbps with a 720 Mpps forwarding rate, latency from 3.8 us and a 4 GB packet buffer built on a virtual output queue architecture. AlgoMatch supports flexible, scalable ACL and forwarding lookups, and the tables hold 768K MAC addresses and 768K IPv4 and IPv6 host routes. This SKU is the rear-to-front airflow version with two hot-swap 500W AC power supplies in a 1+1 arrangement and four N+1 fans.

The QSFP100 ports work with 100GBASE-SR4, LR4, CWDM4, PSM4, DR, FR, AOC and CR4 optics and cables, 40G QSFP+ modules, and 4x25G or 4x10G breakout. It runs Arista EOS with a minimum release of 4.19.0 and is managed with CloudVision.
