Description

The Arista 7130 Connect Series G3 16-port is a 1RU Layer 1+ crosspoint switch built for ultra-low-latency environments. It forwards data bit-for-bit between ports with a deterministic 4 ns latency and full signal regeneration, so it can serve as a remotely configurable patch panel, a media converter, or a tap and mirroring device for link monitoring and bypass of failed links.

The switch provides 16 SFP+ ports that run rate-transparent at 100M, 1GbE or 10GbE, plus an RJ45 port and two 100/1000 management ports. It is non-blocking with no buffering or queuing, and jitter is below 100 ps. Under the hood is a quad-core x86 CPU with 8 GB RAM and a 64GB SSD, running a Linux-based platform with an industry-standard CLI and JSON RPC API. Power is delivered by two hot-swap 460 W supplies in a 1+1 arrangement, with two hot-swap fan trays and a maximum draw of 190 W. There is no PoE and no separate licence listed for this SKU.

The SFP+ ports accept a wide range of media, including 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-SX and LX, and 10GBASE-CR, SR, LR, ER and DWDM optics, making it protocol agnostic for uses such as Fibre Channel and CPRI.
