FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the N9K-C9372PX-E and the N9K-C9372PX?
A: The N9K-C9372PX-E is a minor hardware revision of the Nexus 9372PX with enhanced capabilities for IP-based endpoint group (EPG) classification in Cisco ACI mode, making it better suited for Application Centric Infrastructure deployments.

Q: Does this switch support both NX-OS standalone and Cisco ACI modes?
A: Yes, the N9K-C9372PX-E can run in both NX-OS standalone mode with full Layer 2/Layer 3 feature sets and in Cisco ACI fabric mode as a leaf switch with enhanced EPG classification support.

Q: What transceiver types are supported in the SFP+ and QSFP+ ports?
A: The 48 SFP+ ports support 1G and 10G SFP/SFP+ transceivers. The 6 QSFP+ ports support 40G QSFP+ transceivers and can also be used with breakout cables for 4x10G connectivity using advanced optics.

Q: Is this switch suitable for VXLAN overlay networks?
A: Yes, the N9K-C9372PX-E supports VXLAN tunnel endpoints (VTEP) and is designed for modern data centre architectures including VXLAN-based overlay networks and spine-leaf topologies.

Q: What redundancy and high-availability features are available?
A: The switch supports dual redundant power supplies, Virtual PortChannel (vPC) technology for device-level redundancy, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) for network segmentation, and Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) for gateway redundancy.
