Description

The Cisco Nexus 9364D-GX2A is a high-density 2RU data centre switch designed for hyperscale spine architectures and AI/ML workloads. With 64 fixed 400G QSFP-DD ports delivering 51.2 Tbps of switching capacity, it supports flexible breakout configurations including 4x100G and 2x200G. The first 16 ports feature wire-rate MACsec encryption for secure east-west traffic, while dual 1/10G SFP+ ports provide out-of-band management.

FAQs

Q: What breakout options does the N9K-C9364D-GX2A support?
A: Each 400G QSFP-DD port supports multiple breakout configurations: 4x100G, 4x50G, 4x25G, 4x10G, and 2x200G. This allows up to 256 ports of 100G or lower speeds, providing deployment flexibility for mixed-speed fabrics.

Q: Which ports support MACsec encryption?
A: The first 16 ports (Ethernet 1/1 through 1/16) support wire-rate MACsec AES-256 encryption and Cloudsec, enabling secure east-west traffic in multi-tenant data centre environments without performance penalty.

Q: Is this switch suitable for AI/ML and high-performance computing workloads?
A: Yes, the 9364D-GX2A is optimized for AI/ML workloads with 51.2 Tbps throughput, large 120 MB shared buffer for burst absorption, and ultra-low latency. It is ideal for GPU cluster interconnects and hyperscale spine architectures.

Q: What operating modes does this switch support?
A: The switch runs Cisco NX-OS and supports both standalone NX-OS mode and Cisco ACI fabric mode. It can function as an ACI spine or leaf switch, providing flexibility for brownfield and greenfield deployments.

Q: What power supply options are available for the N9K-C9364D-GX2A?
A: The switch supports redundant hot-swappable AC power supplies including the NXA-PAC-3200W-PI and NXA-PAC-1500W-PI models. Typical power consumption is 1324W with maximum draw of 3000W at full load.
