Description

The Cisco N9K-C9332C Nexus 9332C is a compact 1RU spine switch engineered for high-density data centre fabrics. With 32 fixed 40/100G QSFP28 ports and 2 utility 1/10G SFP+ ports, it delivers 6.4 Tbps switching capacity and supports both Cisco ACI and NX-OS. Wire-rate MACsec encryption on the last eight ports secures leaf-to-spine and inter-POD links, making it ideal for VXLAN EVPN deployments and enterprise-scale ACI fabrics.

Features

VXLAN EVPN support for scalable Layer 2/Layer 3 overlay networks
- Cisco ACI fabric integration for policy-driven automation
- Cisco NX-OS support for traditional data centre deployments
- Wire-rate MACsec encryption on last 8 ports for in-flight data security
- Non-blocking architecture with 6.4 Tbps switching capacity
- 40 MB shared packet buffer for burst traffic absorption
- High-density 100G connectivity in compact 1RU form factor
- Hot-swappable dual power supplies and fan modules for redundancy
- Comprehensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 feature set
- Management via CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, and REST APIs

FAQs

Q: Does the N9K-C9332C support port breakout?
A: No, the N9K-C9332C does not support port breakout on any of its 32 QSFP28 ports. Each port operates as a single 40G or 100G interface.

Q: Which ports support MACsec encryption?
A: Wire-rate MACsec encryption is available on the last eight QSFP28 ports (ports 25-32), enabling secure leaf-to-spine or inter-POD connectivity without throughput penalties.

Q: Can this switch run in both ACI and NX-OS modes?
A: Yes, the N9K-C9332C can operate in either Cisco ACI fabric mode or standalone NX-OS mode, providing flexibility for automation-driven data centre architectures or traditional deployments.

Q: What is the primary use case for the N9K-C9332C?
A: The N9K-C9332C is designed as a high-density spine switch for Cisco ACI or VXLAN EVPN leaf-spine fabrics, ideal for data centre core and aggregation layers requiring predictable, non-blocking 40G/100G performance.

Q: What power supply options are available?
A: The switch supports dual hot-swappable 1100W power supplies in AC, DC, or HVAC/HVDC configurations, with both port-side intake and port-side exhaust airflow options for flexible data centre cooling designs.
