FAQs

Q: What does the half-port license mean on this model?
A: The N9K-C93180YC-FX-H ships with a default license enabling 24 of the 48 downlink ports plus all 6 uplink ports. You can upgrade to a full 48-port license by purchasing the N9K-FX-24P-UPG upgrade license separately.

Q: Can the downlink ports support Fibre Channel?
A: Yes, the unified ports can be configured as 16 Gbps or 32 Gbps Fibre Channel ports with the appropriate FCoE NPV licensing, enabling storage convergence at the top-of-rack.

Q: Does this switch support Cisco ACI?
A: Yes, the switch supports both standalone NX-OS mode and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) mode, providing flexible deployment options for traditional or policy-driven automation environments.

Q: What is the maximum oversubscription ratio?
A: With 48 ports at 25G (1.2 Tbps total) and 6 uplinks at 100G (600 Gbps), the oversubscription ratio is 2:1 in a fully populated configuration, which is ideal for general-purpose compute workloads.

Q: Does this switch support MACsec encryption?
A: Yes, all ports support wire-rate IEEE 802.1AE MACsec encryption, providing secure data transport without compromising performance or adding latency.
