FAQs

Q: How many ports are active on the N9K-C93108TC-FX-24 out of the box?
A: The switch ships with 24 active 10GBASE-T ports enabled. You can license any 24 of the 48 physical ports. To activate all 48 ports, purchase the N9K-FX-24P-UPG= upgrade license.

Q: What speeds are supported on the downlink ports?
A: The 10GBASE-T downlink ports support 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 10 Gbps speeds, providing flexible migration paths from legacy networks to 10G infrastructure using existing CAT6 or CAT6A cabling.

Q: Can the QSFP28 uplinks be used for both 40G and 100G connectivity?
A: Yes. All six QSFP28 uplinks support both 40G and 100G operation. They also support breakout modes including 4x10G, 4x25G, and 2x50G for added flexibility in spine-leaf architectures.

Q: What software licenses are required for this switch?
A: The switch requires a minimum of the NX-OS Essentials license for LAN Base features. Advanced capabilities like VXLAN, EVPN, telemetry, and full Layer 3 routing require the NX-OS Advantage license. ACI mode requires separate ACI licenses.

Q: Is this switch compatible with Cisco ACI and VXLAN EVPN fabrics?
A: Yes. The N9K-C93108TC-FX-24 supports both NX-OS standalone mode with VXLAN EVPN and Cisco ACI fabric mode, making it suitable for software-defined data center deployments with policy-driven automation.
