FAQs

Q: What port speeds are supported on the 10GBASE-T ports?
A: The 48 10GBASE-T ports support auto-negotiation at 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 10 Gbps speeds, providing flexible migration paths and backward compatibility with existing copper infrastructure.

Q: Can the QSFP28 uplinks support both 40G and 100G speeds?
A: Yes, all six QSFP28 ports support 40G and 100G operation, and can also be configured for 10G, 25G, and 50G connectivity using appropriate transceivers or breakout cables.

Q: What software modes does the N9K-C93108TC-EX support?
A: The switch runs Cisco NX-OS and supports both standalone NX-OS mode for traditional data centre networking and Cisco ACI mode for policy-driven automation and software-defined networking.

Q: Is this switch suitable for VXLAN overlay networks?
A: Yes, the N9K-C93108TC-EX supports VXLAN with EVPN control plane, making it ideal for leaf/spine architectures and modern multi-tenant data centre fabrics with Layer 2 extension over Layer 3.

Q: Does the switch include power supplies and fans?
A: The base SKU (N9K-C93108TC-EX) is a spare switch chassis without power supplies or fans. You must order dual redundant power supplies and fan modules separately for a complete operational unit.
