FAQs

Q: What parent switches are compatible?
A: Nexus 5K/6K/7K/9K models that support FEX with the appropriate NX-OS software. Check release notes for exact support.

Q: Is PoE available on the copper ports?
A: No. The 10GBASE-T ports do not provide PoE.

Q: Can I split QSFP+ uplinks into 4x10G?
A: Yes, where supported by the parent and optics, QSFP+ uplinks can be channelized to 4x10G using breakout cables or optics.

Q: Do I need licenses for the FEX?
A: No licenses are required on the FEX. Any licensing applies to the parent Nexus switch.

Q: How should I connect for redundancy?
A: Use vPC to dual-home uplinks across two parent Nexus switches for active-active redundancy.

Q: What airflow choices exist?
A: Both port-side intake and port-side exhaust are available; ensure PSUs and fans match the selected airflow.
