Description

The Arista DCS-7050SX3-24YC4C-S-F is a high-performance 1RU data center switch designed for leaf and spine deployments. It features 24 ports of 25GbE SFP28 that can be flexibly configured for 25G, 10G, or 1G speeds, plus 4 ports of 100G QSFP100 supporting 100GbE, 40GbE, or breakout configurations. With ultra-low 800ns latency, 1.0 Tbps switching capacity, and 32MB shared buffer architecture, it delivers wire-speed Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding optimized for high-performance server and storage environments. The -F suffix indicates front-to-rear airflow with dual redundant AC power supplies.

FAQs

Q: Can the SFP28 ports run at speeds other than 25G?
A: Yes, the 24x SFP28 ports can be configured in groups of four to run at 25G, 10G, or 1G speeds with compatible transceivers, providing flexible migration paths from legacy 1G/10G networks to 25G infrastructure.

Q: What uplink configurations are supported on the QSFP100 ports?
A: The 4x QSFP100 ports support five speed options: 100GbE, 40GbE, 4x25GbE breakout, 4x10GbE breakout, and 2x50GbE, enabling flexible leaf-spine connectivity with wide transceiver and cable compatibility.

Q: What is the difference between the -S and -F suffix models?
A: The -S indicates the base model with front-to-rear airflow and dual AC power supplies, while the -F specifically denotes front-to-rear airflow configuration. Additional suffixes like -R indicate reverse (rear-to-front) airflow for different data center hot/cold aisle designs.

Q: Does this switch require licensing for advanced features?
A: The switch runs Arista EOS with base Layer 2/Layer 3 features included. Optional licenses are available for advanced functionality including CloudVision integration, enhanced routing tables (FLX-Lite), and monitoring features (LANZ, TapAgg, OpenFlow).

Q: Is this switch suitable for both leaf and spine roles?
A: Yes, the 7050SX3-24YC4C is designed for both top-of-rack leaf deployments with 25G server connectivity and fixed-configuration spine roles, offering non-blocking architecture and flexible port configurations for diverse data center topologies.
