Description

The SCB3 is a switch control board for the Juniper SRX5000 line of services gateways, covering the SRX5400, SRX5600 and SRX5800 chassis. It provides the switch fabric, chassis management and control functions, and includes a slot for an SRX5000-line Routing Engine. This -R part number is the redundant option, used as a second control board in data-centre and service-provider firewall deployments.

The SCB3 draws 300 W and weighs 9.6 lb (4.4 kg) with a Routing Engine fitted. Slot support depends on the chassis: bottom slot 0 on the SRX5400, bottom slots 0 and 1 on the SRX5600, and centre slots 0, 1 and 2/6 on the SRX5800. Onboard hardware includes a Gigabit Ethernet switch linked to the embedded CPU complex on each component, a control FPGA that provides the PCI interface to the Routing Engine, and I2C bus logic for low-level communication with every component.

The board requires Junos OS Release 15.1X49-D10 or later and works with the SRX5000 line MPCs and IOCs.
