Description

The Secure Firewall 6100 8x10G SFP+ network module is a field-replaceable I/O module for the Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 Series, covering the 6160 and 6170. It plugs into either of the chassis's two network module slots and adds fibre or copper 1G/10G Ethernet interfaces, which suits data centre and service provider deployments that need extra connectivity.

The module provides 8 SFP/SFP+ ports, each supporting 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps full-duplex operation. It differs from the 8x25G SFP28, 4x40G, 2x100G, 4x200G, 2x400G and hardware-bypass modules in the same family by offering eight 1/10G SFP+ ports. Each port has a link and activity LED, and the module measures 1.41 x 3.66 x 9.94 in (3.58 x 9.3 x 25.25 cm). It draws power from the chassis and has no separate power input. The module itself needs no licence, while feature licensing on the host firewall is separate.

It is supported on Secure Firewall Threat Defense 10.0 or ASA 9.24 and later. Supported optics include GLC-TE, GLC-SX-MMD, GLC-LH-SMD, SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR and SFP-10G-ER, plus SFP-H10GB direct attach and active optical cables.
