Description

The Secure Firewall 6100 2x400G QSFP-DD network module adds two 400G interfaces to the Cisco Secure Firewall 6160 and 6170 chassis. It suits data-centre, service-provider and large-enterprise edge deployments that need high-density 400G connectivity, and it fits one of the two network module bays in the chassis.

Each of the two QSFP-DD ports runs at 400 Gbps full-duplex Ethernet. Each port can also operate with 200G QSFP56, 100G QSFP28 or 40G QSFP+ transceivers, which lets you move to 400G in stages. Ports are numbered Ethernet 2/1 and 2/2, or 3/1 and 3/2 depending on the slot. The faceplate has a captive screw, a power-on LED, an ejector handle and per-port activity LEDs. This is a non-bypass module with no fail-to-wire function.

The module is powered from the host chassis, so it needs no separate power supply and carries no licence of its own. It runs under Secure Firewall Threat Defense or ASA software on the 6100 series, which carries its own licensing. It requires a compatible firmware package and software version on the host.
