Description

This 3.6 TB self-encrypting NVMe SSD module is built for the Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 Series. It is the storage drive fitted by default to the Secure Firewall 6160, so it suits replacement or spare storage for 6160 appliances. In the 6100 Series, the SSDs are used for event storage and malware analysis.

The module is a self-encrypting drive (SED) in the non-FIPS variant, with 3.6 TB of NVMe capacity. Each 6100 chassis has two SSD slots (SSD-1 and SSD-2), each holding one NVMe SSD. The two drives run in factory-configured software RAID1. The drive is hot-swappable, and the 'raid remove-secure local-disk 1|2' command is run before removal.

No licence is needed for the SSD itself, and it draws power from the chassis with no separate supply. It fits the Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 Series. The 6160 ships with two 3.6 TB SSDs, while the 6170 uses 7.2 TB drives.
