Description

The Catalyst 9550 C9550-64C-XL is a 2RU fixed core and aggregation switch built for the edge, core and distribution layers of very large enterprise campus networks. It also suits fabric border and aggregation roles in large SD-Access fabrics, campus gateway deployments that need high route scale, and consolidation of multiple 100/40G QSFP access switches into a single backbone.

It provides 64 x 100/40G QSFP28 ports on a single Cisco Silicon One K100 ASIC, with up to 6.4 Tbps of full-duplex switching capacity and a forwarding rate of up to 3.9 Bpps. The XL variant scales to 2,000,000 IPv4 routes and 1,000,000 IPv6 routes, with 128,000 MAC addresses and an 8GB HBM plus 64MB SMS packet buffer. An AMD x86 8-core CPU, 32 GB of DRAM and up to 960 GB of SSD storage support container-based application hosting, with 2 x 10G AppGig ports.

The chassis has two power supply bays for 1+1 redundancy using C9K-PWR-1100WAC power supplies, and three field-replaceable fan modules (C9550-FAN-2U-R front-to-back or C9550-FAN-2U-F back-to-front). It requires IOS XE Release 26.2.1 or later and uses Cisco unified licensing managed through Smart Accounts.
