Description

The Catalyst 9200CX is a compact, fanless Layer 2/3 access switch for branch offices, classrooms, retail and other space-constrained or noise-sensitive locations. This PoE pass-through model can take power from an upstream UPOE+ switch and pass PoE+ on to IP phones, cameras and access points, so it can be deployed where no local mains outlet is available.

It provides 8 x 10/100/1000 PoE+ downlink ports and 2 x 1G copper uplinks, with 20 Gbps switching capacity and a 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate. Power comes from the UPOE+ (802.3bt) uplinks and/or an external 80W or 150W adapter, giving an available PoE budget of 180W or 240W depending on the adapter used. The -A suffix denotes the perpetual Network Advantage software tier on Cisco IOS XE, which adds the routing and SD-Access capability this tier is used for.

It works with the C9K-80W-ADPT and C9K-150W-ADPT power adapters, and the C9K-ADPT-DC adapter for low-voltage DC input. Mounting options include the C9K-MGNT-TRAY magnet tray, C9K-CMPCT-DIN-MNT DIN rail kit, RACKMNT-19-CMPACT 19-inch rack mount and C9K-WALL-TRAY wall tray. Stacking is not supported on the C9200CX.

Q: Does this switch need a software subscription?
A: The -A SKU includes the perpetual Network Advantage software tier. It also operates with a Cisco Catalyst DNA subscription managed through Cisco Smart Licensing, and the DNA tier must match the network tier.

Q: How is the C9200CX-8PT-2G-A powered?
A: It is powered by upstream IEEE 802.3bt Class 8 / UPOE+ through the 2 x 1G copper uplinks and/or an external C9K-80W-ADPT or C9K-150W-ADPT adapter. Low-voltage DC input is supported with the C9K-ADPT-DC adapter.
