FAQs

Q: What PoE power budget does this switch provide?
A: The CCS-720DP-24S-2F offers a total PoE budget of 380W across all 24 ports, with each port supporting up to 30W per the 802.3af/at/bt standards. Dual redundant 460W power supplies ensure reliable PoE delivery for access points, IP phones, and IoT devices.

Q: Does this switch support Layer 3 routing?
A: Yes, the 720D series supports advanced Layer 3 routing protocols including OSPF, OSPFv3, BGP, MP-BGP, IS-IS, and RIPv2. It can handle up to 4,000 IPv4 routes and 6,000 IPv6 routes, along with 64-way ECMP routing and VRF segmentation.

Q: Can this switch be managed via cloud?
A: Yes, the CCS-720DP-24S-2F integrates with Arista CloudVision for cloud-based network management. CloudVision provides automated provisioning, change control, real-time telemetry, predictive analytics, and continuous compliance monitoring across the campus network.

Q: Does this model support Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (MLAG)?
A: Yes, the 720D series supports MLAG for active-active redundancy and high availability. This allows you to deploy pairs of switches with link aggregation across both chassis for resilient campus pod architectures without traditional stacking.

Q: What uplink speeds are supported on the SFP+ ports?
A: The four SFP+ uplink ports support both 1Gbps and 10Gbps speeds, providing flexibility for network design. You can use standard 1G SFP or 10G SFP+ transceivers depending on your backbone requirements and migration path.
