Description

The Catalyst 2960-CX is a fanless, compact, managed Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switch built for space-constrained deployments outside the wiring closet, such as open workspaces, desks and conference rooms. It provides PoE+ for IP phones, wireless access points, surveillance cameras and video endpoints, and its silent operation suits areas where noise matters.

This model has 8 x 10/100/1000 PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) downlink ports sharing a 124W PoE budget, with up to 30W per port. Four 1G uplinks are provided, 2 x copper and 2 x SFP, and all four can be used at the same time or as downlinks. It delivers 12 Gbps forwarding bandwidth, 24 Gbps switching bandwidth and a 17.9 Mpps forwarding rate, with 128 MB flash and 512 MB DRAM. It supports up to 255 VLANs, 4000 VLAN IDs and jumbo frames up to 9198 bytes. The switch runs the Cisco IOS LAN Base feature set.

The 1G SFP uplinks accept Cisco SFP modules, and the compact chassis can be mounted on a wall, under a desk, in a rack or on a DIN rail using the optional family accessories.
