A: IP Base provides Layer 3 routing capabilities with support for up to 1000 VLANs, wireless controller functionality (mobility agent and mobility controller roles), routed access, and Flexible NetFlow. LAN Base offers Layer 2 switching with up to 255 VLANs. The WS-C3650-48FQ-S comes with IP Base. Feature sets can be upgraded via RTU licensing.

Q: Can this switch be stacked with other Catalyst 3650 models?
A: Yes, the WS-C3650-48FQ-S supports optional stacking using StackWise-160 modules. You can stack up to 9 switches with 160 Gbps stack bandwidth. However, you can only stack switches with the same feature set (IP Base with IP Base, LAN Base with LAN Base). Mixed feature set stacks are not supported.
