Description

The Catalyst 2960-Plus 24PC-L is a fixed-configuration Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switch built for branch offices, remote sites and retail locations. It suits conventional workspaces with IP phones and PoE access points, as well as building infrastructure and physical security deployments that need dependable access-layer connectivity.

It provides 24 10/100 ports with IEEE 802.3af PoE, delivering up to 15.4W per port from a 370W PoE budget. Two dual-personality uplinks accept either SFP modules or 1000BASE-T copper. Forwarding bandwidth is 16 Gbps with a 6.5 Mpps forwarding rate, and the switch supports 255 active VLANs from a pool of 4K VLAN IDs. It carries 64 MB of flash and 128 MB of DRAM in a 1RU chassis. This SKU runs the LAN Base feature set, and the -L model is tied to that feature set.

The internal power supply is auto-ranging for 100 to 240 VAC, and an optional Cisco RPS 2300 can be connected for redundant power. The switch is supported by Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Cisco's wider range of network management tools.

FAQs

Q: Does this switch need a separate licence?
A: No. It runs the LAN Base Cisco IOS Software feature set, which is tied to the -L model. LAN Lite (-S) models cannot be upgraded to LAN Base.

Q: How much PoE power does it provide?
A: It has a 370W PoE budget and supports IEEE 802.3af on all 24 ports at up to 15.4W each. Power is allocated intelligently across ports.

Q: What can I connect to the two uplink ports?
A: The two uplinks are dual-personality, so each can use an SFP module or 1000BASE-T copper. Supported SFP modules are listed in the Cisco Transceiver Compatibility matrix.

Q: Can it be connected to a redundant power system?
