Description

The Cisco Embedded Services 3300 (ESS 3300) main board is a compact embedded Ethernet switch for OEMs and system integrators building custom rugged switching solutions. It suits size, weight and power constrained deployments such as defence, oil and gas, transportation and mining, as well as tactical data centres, HD video surveillance and self-driving vehicles.

This SKU is the mainboard only, with no cooling plate (air cooled), so the integrator supplies the thermal solution. It provides 2 x 1G/10G SFP+ ports and 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports, with 4 of the 8 available as combo ports with 1G or 100M SFP. It has 4 GB DDR4 DRAM, 4 GB onboard eMMC flash and RS-232 and USB console access. It forwards at line rate on all ports and packet sizes, and is powered from +3.3Vdc and +5Vdc board-level rails at 16 W typical. The board measures 103 mm x 96 mm and weighs 81 g. It runs Cisco IOS XE with the Network Essentials feature set.

An optional 16-port expansion board connects via board-to-board connectors. Supported SFP and SFP+ optics include GLC-SX-MM, GLC-LH-SM, GLC-TE, SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-10G-ER, SFP-10G-LRM, SFP-10G-T-X and SFP-H10G-CU1M, plus CWDM and DWDM SFPs.
