FAQs

Q: What port speeds are supported on the C9500X-60L4D-A?
A: The switch supports 10/25/50G on the 60 SFP56 ports and 40/100/200/400G on the 4 QSFP-DD uplink ports. Breakout cables are supported on the QSFP-DD ports only, allowing 4x 100G or 8x 50G configurations.

Q: What license is included with the C9500X-60L4D-A?
A: The switch ships with the Cisco Network Advantage license, which includes advanced Layer 3 routing, MPLS, VXLAN, stacking with StackWise Virtual, and comprehensive security features. Cisco DNA licenses can be purchased separately.

Q: Can this switch be used for both core and edge deployments?
A: Yes. The C9500X-60L4D-A is designed for both enterprise core and campus aggregation/edge deployments. Its Virtual Output Queue (VoQ) forwarding architecture and dual buffering capabilities eliminate head-of-line blocking, making it suitable for high-density edge scenarios as well as core routing.

Q: Does the C9500X-60L4D-A support stacking?
A: Yes, the switch supports StackWise Virtual technology, allowing two switches to be logically combined into a single management domain with up to 25.6 Tbps of total capacity. Traditional hardware stacking is not supported.

Q: What are the key differences between C9500X and standard C9500 models?
A: The C9500X series uses the Cisco Silicon One Q200 ASIC (vs UADP 2.0/3.0), offering up to 12.8 Tbps capacity, P4 programmability, deeper buffers (8 GB HBM), higher table scale (2M routes), and hardware IPsec encryption support, making it purpose-built for next-generation core networks.
