Q: Does this switch include uplink ports?
A: The C9300X-48TX-E has one modular network module slot but does not include an uplink module by default. You can add optional network modules such as C9300X-NM-8Y (8 x 25G SFP28), C9300X-NM-4C (4 x 100G QSFP28), C9300X-NM-2C (2 x 100G QSFP28), or C9300-NM-8X (8 x 10G SFP+) to suit your architecture requirements.

Q: What is the difference between Network Essentials and Network Advantage licenses?
A: The C9300X-48TX-E ships with Network Essentials, which includes Layer 2 switching, QoS, basic Layer 3 routing (OSPF, static routes), MACsec encryption, and StackWise virtual. Network Advantage adds advanced Layer 3 features such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, policy-based routing, and more granular security and automation capabilities. You can upgrade to Network Advantage if needed.

Q: Can this switch support Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E access points?
A: Yes, the C9300X-48TX-E is optimized for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E deployments. Each multigigabit port auto-negotiates up to 10GBASE-T, providing the bandwidth required for high-performance wireless access points. However, this model does not support PoE, so you will need either PoE-capable access points with local power or external PoE injectors.

Q: How many switches can I stack together?
A: You can stack up to 8 Catalyst 9300X or mixed 9300/9300X switches using StackWise-1T technology, delivering up to 1 Tbps of stacking bandwidth. This enables centralized management of up to 448 multigigabit ports as a single logical switch with redundant control planes. Mixed stacking between C9300X and C9300 models is supported at StackWise-480 speeds.

Q: Is this switch compatible with Cisco DNA Center?
A: Yes, the C9300X-48TX-E is fully compatible with Cisco DNA Center for intent-based networking, automation, analytics, and assurance.
