FAQs

Q: What PoE standard does this switch support?
A: The C9300LM-24U-4Y-E supports Cisco UPOE (Universal Power over Ethernet), delivering up to 60W per port. The default 600W power supply provides 420W total PoE budget, sufficient for powering high-draw devices like Wi-Fi 6 access points and PTZ cameras. An optional 1kW power supply can be added to support the full 1440W (60W x 24 ports).

Q: Can this switch be stacked with other Catalyst 9300 models?
A: Yes, the C9300LM can be stacked with other Catalyst 9300L and 9300LM models using the optional StackWise-320 kit (sold separately). Up to 8 switches can form a single logical stack with 320 Gbps stacking bandwidth. It cannot be stacked with modular uplink C9300 or C9300X models.

Q: What is the difference between Network Essentials and Network Advantage licenses?
A: Network Essentials provides essential Layer 2 switching and limited Layer 3 features including static routing, VLANs, and basic security. Network Advantage adds advanced Layer 3 dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), enhanced QoS, and advanced security features. Licenses can be upgraded after purchase.

Q: What makes this a mini switch and where is it typically deployed?
A: The 9300L Mini series features a compact form factor (13.17 inches depth vs. standard rack depth) designed for space-constrained environments such as small wiring closets, retail locations, remote offices, and industrial edge deployments where cabinet space is limited but enterprise-class features are required.

Q: Does this switch support Wi-Fi 6 access point deployments?
A: Yes, this switch is optimized for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) deployments. The 25G SFP28 uplinks provide ample bandwidth for high-density wireless traffic, while UPOE ensures sufficient power for next-generation access points. It also supports multi-gigabit Ethernet when combined with appropriate models in the 9300L series.
