FAQs

Q: Can the C9300L-48P-4G-A be stacked with other Catalyst 9300 models?
A: Yes, it supports StackWise-320 and can stack with other Catalyst 9300L models at the same license level, with up to 8 switches and 320 Gbps stacking bandwidth. It cannot be stacked with modular C9300 or C9300X models, nor with Catalyst 3850/3650 series switches.

Q: What routing protocols are supported with the Network Advantage license?
A: The Network Advantage license includes full Layer 3 routing with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, PBR, MPLS, and VRF-Lite support, enabling the switch to function as a branch router or core switch in smaller networks.

Q: How much PoE power can be expanded on this switch?
A: The default 715W power supply provides 505W of PoE budget. By adding a secondary 715W power supply to the dual redundant slots, the total PoE budget can be expanded to 1,220W for higher-density PoE+ deployments.

Q: Is this switch compatible with Cisco DNA Center and SD-Access?
A: Yes, the C9300L-48P-4G-A is fully compatible with Cisco DNA Center and can operate as a Fabric Edge node with VXLAN support for SD-Access automation, policy enforcement, and micro-segmentation when paired with a DNA license.

Q: What is the difference between the 4G and 4X uplink models?
A: The 4G model (C9300L-48P-4G-A) features four fixed 1G SFP uplinks, ideal for Gigabit fiber backbone environments. The 4X model (C9300L-48P-4X-A) has four 10G SFP+ uplinks for higher-bandwidth aggregation to the distribution layer.
