FAQs

Q: Can this switch be stacked with other Catalyst 9300 models?
A: The C9300L-24P-4X-A can be stacked with other Catalyst 9300L fixed-uplink models using the optional StackWise-320 kit. It supports up to 8 switches in a stack with 320 Gbps stacking bandwidth. It cannot be stacked with modular uplink models such as the C9300 or C9300X Series, or with Catalyst 3850/3650 switches.

Q: What is the PoE budget and can it power all 24 ports at full PoE+?
A: The switch provides a 505W PoE budget with the included 715W power supply. To power all 24 ports at full PoE+ (30W per port, totaling 720W), a second power supply is required. With dual power supplies, the PoE budget increases to 720W, enabling full 802.3at on all ports simultaneously.

Q: What license is included and what features does Network Advantage provide?
A: The C9300L-24P-4X-A includes Cisco Network Advantage perpetual licensing. This provides advanced Layer 3 routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), advanced QoS, MACsec encryption, Encrypted Traffic Analytics, dynamic segmentation, and full support for Cisco DNA Center automation and assurance. Network Advantage is required for enterprise-grade features beyond basic Layer 2 switching.

Q: Is this switch compatible with Cisco DNA Center and Software-Defined Access?
A: Yes, the Catalyst 9300L Series is purpose-built for Cisco Software-Defined Access and integrates fully with Cisco DNA Center. It supports policy-based automation, telemetry, security segmentation, and network assurance when managed through DNA Center.

Q: What is the difference between the 4X and 4G uplink models?
A: The 4X suffix indicates four 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports, while 4G models have four 1 Gigabit SFP uplinks. The C9300L-24P-4X-A offers significantly higher uplink bandwidth for dense access-layer deployments, high-speed server connectivity, or aggregation to core switches.
