FAQs

Q: What is the maximum PoE power budget with a second power supply?
A: With an optional 1100W secondary power supply installed, the C9300-24UX-E can deliver up to 1440W total PoE power, enabling full 60W UPOE across all 24 ports simultaneously for high-power devices like Wi-Fi 6E access points and PTZ cameras.

Q: Which network modules are compatible with this switch?
A: The C9300-24UX-E supports Catalyst 9300 and 3850 network modules including C9300-NM-4G (4x 1G SFP), C9300-NM-8X (8x 10G SFP+), C9300-NM-2Q (2x 40G QSFP+), and C9300-NM-4M (4x 25G SFP28), providing flexible uplink options from 1G to 40G.

Q: Can this switch be stacked with other Catalyst 9300 models?
A: Yes, the C9300-24UX-E supports StackWise-480 and can be stacked with other C9300 modular uplink models (non-L SKUs) and C9300X models at 480 Gbps speeds. Up to 8 switches can form a single logical unit. It cannot stack with C9300L fixed uplink models or higher-scale UB/UXB models.

Q: What is the difference between Network Essentials and Network Advantage licenses?
A: Network Essentials includes base Layer 2 and limited Layer 3 features, static routing, and basic security. Network Advantage adds advanced Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), stacking, MACsec encryption, and enhanced QoS capabilities. Licenses can be upgraded post-purchase.

Q: Is this switch suitable for Wi-Fi 6E access point deployments?
A: Absolutely. The C9300-24UX-E is optimized for high-density wireless with Multigigabit ports supporting up to 10G speeds and 60W UPOE per port, making it ideal for powering and connecting the latest Wi-Fi 6/6E access points that require multi-gigabit backhaul and higher power.
