FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the -2XH and -2X models?
A: The C9200CX-8UXG-2XH-A includes HVDC (High Voltage DC) support in addition to standard AC power input, enabling deployment in DC micro grid environments common in enterprise datacenters and telecom installations. The -2X model supports AC power only. Both share identical port configuration and PoE capabilities.

Q: Can this switch power Wi-Fi 6E access points?
A: Yes, all 8 ports support 802.3bt Type 3 Class 6 UPoE up to 60W per port, providing sufficient power for demanding Wi-Fi 6 and 6E access points. The 240W total PoE budget can simultaneously power multiple high-power devices while the multigigabit ports deliver bandwidth up to 10 Gbps to support high-density wireless deployments.

Q: Does the C9200CX series support stacking?
A: No, the Catalyst 9200CX compact series does not support StackWise stacking. These switches are designed as standalone access layer devices for distributed deployments in branch offices, retail locations, and space-constrained environments where silent, compact operation is required.

Q: What license is included with the Network Advantage SKU?
A: The Network Advantage license includes Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, BGP), advanced QoS, full security features including MACsec and TrustSec, policy-based automation, and full support for Cisco DNA Center management. It provides enterprise-grade features for advanced campus deployments.

Q: What uplink transceivers are compatible with this switch?
A: The 2x 10G SFP+ uplink ports support standard Cisco 10G SFP+ transceivers and 1G SFP modules, including SR, LR, LRM fiber optics and copper direct-attach cables. The switch auto-negotiates 1G or 10G based on the installed module, providing flexible connectivity to distribution or core switches.
