Description

The Aironet 1570 is a ruggedised outdoor dual-band 802.11ac Wave 1 access point for carrier-grade and enterprise campus Wi-Fi. This 1572IC variant has integrated omnidirectional antennas under a common radome and a built-in North American DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, so it can backhaul over a hybrid fibre-coax network. It suits outdoor campuses, public venues such as stadiums, train stations and airports, cable operator Wi-Fi offload, municipal deployments and industrial yards.

Both radios use 4x4 MIMO with three spatial streams and support 20, 40 and 80 MHz channels, for up to 1.3 Gbps PHY data rate on 5 GHz. The cable modem uses a 5-85 / 108-1002 MHz diplexer split and supports channel bonding up to 24x8, giving up to 912 Mbps downstream and 216 Mbps upstream usable throughput. It is built for regulatory domain Z and powered over the coax cable at 40-90 VAC, or from 10-16 VDC. The IP67 and NEMA Type 4X enclosure is rated for -40 to 65 C operation.

It is operated in controller-based mode with a Cisco wireless LAN controller. It needs a DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS, and channel bonding requires a bonding-capable CMTS. Pole mounting kits PMK1-3 and strand mounting brackets SMK1-3 are available, along with the optional AIR-ANT-GPS-1 GPS antenna.

A: It is operated in controller-based mode with a Cisco wireless LAN controller. No separate software licence is listed for the access point itself.
