Description

The AP-675EX is a ruggedised, hazardous-location certified outdoor access point from the Aruba 670 Series, built for oil rigs, mining facilities, industrial manufacturing plants and transportation sites. It suits places exposed to extreme temperatures, flammable gases or vapours, and dust, and carries Class 1 Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 certification.

This RW (Rest of World) regulatory domain variant uses a tri-radio 2x2:2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6E design across the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands, with a maximum aggregate data rate of 3.9 Gbps. Two integrated tri-band omnidirectional antennas are fitted. Wired connectivity is one 100/1000/2500BASE-T NBASE-T port (E0) that accepts PoE, plus a 1GbE SFP port. Integrated high-power Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee radios support Industrial IoT deployments, and a built-in TPM and embedded GPS receiver support Standard Power operation.

Power is delivered over 802.3bt PoE for unrestricted operation, with 802.3at class 4 operation subject to Intelligent Power Monitoring restrictions. The unit comes with a pre-installed mounting bracket holder and works with mount kits such as the AP-270-MNT-H1. It is managed through Aruba Central or an Aruba Mobility Conductor and Controller platform.

FAQs

Q: What PoE standard does the AP-675EX need?
A: For unrestricted operation it needs 802.3bt class 6 PoE on port E0. Class 5 and 802.3at class 4 are supported with Intelligent Power Monitoring restrictions. 802.3af is not supported except for staging.

Q: Which hazardous-location certifications does it carry?
A: This EX model is certified Class 1 Division 2 (Groups A, B, C, D, T4) and ATEX Zone 2.

Q: Does it require a controller or cloud subscription?
A: Yes. It is managed through an Aruba management platform such as Aruba Central cloud management or a Mobility Conductor and Controller. Check your management licensing before deployment.

Q: What mounting options are available?
A: It has a pre-installed mounting bracket holder and works with separately sold mount kits such as the AP-270-MNT-H1 hanging and tilt kit. The antennas are optimised for horizontal mounting.

Q: What does the RW designation mean?
A: RW stands for Rest of World, the regulatory domain this variant is built for. It uses internal omnidirectional antennas and is the hazardous-location EX model.
