Description

The Catalyst 9166D1 is an indoor Wi-Fi 6E tri-radio access point from the Catalyst 9166 Series, built around an integrated directional antenna. It is aimed at high-density deployments such as venues and auditoriums, where focused coverage helps serve many clients in a defined area.

This SKU is the Regulatory domain Z variant with a tri-band 4x4 XOR radio configuration. It operates on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz with 4x4:4 MU-MIMO and a tri-radio aggregate frame rate of up to 7.8 Gbps. The integrated directional antenna provides 6 dBi gain at 2.4 and 5 GHz with a 70x70 degree beamwidth, and 8 dBi gain at 6 GHz with a 60x60 degree beamwidth. A dedicated dual-band scanning radio and a Bluetooth Low Energy radio support RF monitoring and IoT use cases, with full-time Wi-Fi location tracking.
