The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR550 is a versatile 2U dual-socket rack server supporting first and second generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Designed for enterprise workloads including analytics, transactional systems, and collaboration, it delivers flexible storage capacity with up to 24 drive bays and scalable I/O expansion with up to 6 PCIe 3.0 slots. Managed via XClarity Controller, the SR550 combines performance, storage density, and enterprise-grade reliability in a compact 2U form factor.

A: No, mixing processor generations is not supported. The SR550 can be configured with either first-generation (Skylake) or second-generation (Cascade Lake) Intel Xeon Scalable processors, but both processors in a dual-socket configuration must be from the same generation.
