Description

The Juniper MX80 is a compact 2RU edge router from the MX Series, built for enterprise WAN edge, data centre interconnect, branch aggregation and small service provider points of presence or mobile backhaul where rack space and power are limited. The MX80-AC is the AC-powered modular chassis with two MIC slots and no timing support.

The chassis delivers 80 Gbps of system capacity, with packet forwarding of up to 55 to 60 Mpps, and includes four built-in 10GbE XFP ports. Two MS-MIC slots add Ethernet and non-Ethernet interface options, and the MS-MIC supports integrated services such as NAT, IPsec and sampling. It takes a 100-240 VAC input and includes a fan tray with filter, with front or centre mounting.

It runs Junos OS on the programmable Junos Trio chipset, so MX Series routing features are available. The built-in 10GbE ports use XFP optics, and the AC power supply spare is PWR-MX80-AC-S. Software and feature licences are separate.
