Description

The MX80 is a compact 2RU universal edge router from the Juniper MX Series, built for enterprise and service provider sites where rack space and power are limited. This fixed-configuration model replaces the MIC slots with 48 built-in 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 ports, giving dense Gigabit copper connectivity for edge, aggregation and access roles.

Four built-in 10GbE XFP ports provide uplink or aggregation capacity, and the platform delivers 80 Gbps of system capacity. The MX80-48T-DC is the DC-powered model, taking -40 to -72 VDC input, with room for a second power supply for redundancy. The chassis includes a fan tray with filter and supports optional redundant power supplies and fans.

Management connectivity includes a console RJ-45, a 10/100 management Ethernet port, a USB port and an auxiliary RJ-45 port. The router runs Junos OS on the Juniper Trio chipset, giving a consistent MX Series operating environment and access to the carrier Ethernet and advanced services feature set.
