Description

The MX80-48T-AC is the fixed-configuration variant of the compact MX80 3D Universal Edge Router, built for space- and power-constrained service provider and enterprise edge sites. It suits enterprise WAN, data centre interconnect, branch aggregation and campus edge roles where a full modular chassis is not needed.

This AC-powered model provides 80 Gbps of system capacity with 48 fixed 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 ports and four built-in 10GbE XFP ports. A rear MS-MIC service slot supports virtualised services. The AC system accepts 90 to 264 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, with 610 W system input power and 500 W maximum output power. The chassis measures 17.5 x 3.5 x 23.5 inches, weighs up to 30 lb (13.7 kg) and mounts front or centre.

It runs Junos OS with MPLS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN and carrier-class routing features. The four 10GbE uplinks use XFP optics, and the MS-MIC slot accepts MX-series MICs listed in Juniper's MX Series Interface Module Reference.
