Description

The Juniper MX40-T-DC is a compact 2RU DC-powered edge router from the MX Series, built for space- and power-constrained enterprise and service provider sites. It suits managed services, campus and data-centre edge roles, and CGNAT, stateful firewall and IPsec deployments through its services slot.

The chassis provides two front MIC slots for GbE and 10GbE interface cards, two built-in 10GbE XFP ports, and a rear MS-MIC slot for services such as Junos Traffic Vision. System capacity is 60 Gbps, and the platform is software upgradeable to MX80 capacity. The -T variant adds timing support, including synchronous Ethernet. Power is supplied by dual DC power supplies with a -40 to -72 VDC input, and the router runs Junos OS on the Junos Trio chipset. The MIC slots are supplied empty, so interface cards are selected to match your port requirements.

The base chassis enables two MIC slots and two 10GbE ports. Separately purchased upgrade licences enable up to two additional 10GbE interfaces and the MX80 capacity upgrade. The two front MIC slots accept Juniper MX Series MICs, and the built-in 10GbE ports use XFP optics.
