Description

The MX40-T-AC is a compact 2U edge router chassis from the Juniper MX Series 3D Universal Edge Router family. It suits service provider and enterprise edge and aggregation routing, where modular interface expansion lets the router grow with port requirements.

The MX40 is the 40 Gbps forwarding tier of the MX80 platform family. This SKU is the AC power model, with an internal AC power supply. It has two fixed 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and three MIC slots, two at the front and one at the rear, for adding Gigabit or 10 Gigabit interfaces to suit the deployment. The rear slot supports only the MS-MIC, while the front slots accept standard MICs.

The chassis mounts in a standard rack in 2U of space and runs the Junos operating system used across the MX Series edge routing range.
