Description

The HPE FlexNetwork MSR3044 is a modular branch router from the MSR3000 series, built for medium to large branch offices that need integrated routing, switching, security and voice in a single box. Optional 3G/4G LTE SIC modules provide WAN backup for business continuity.

The JG405A provides 3 x 1000BASE-T ports and 2 x fixed Gigabit SFP ports, with 4 HMIM slots, 4 SIC slots (or 2 DSIC slots, or a combination) and 2 voice processing module slots for flexible expansion. A 4-core 1 GHz processor and 2 GB DDR3 memory deliver throughput of up to 3.5 Mpps, and the routing table supports 500,000 IPv4 and 500,000 IPv6 entries. Two power supply slots accept AC 100-240 VAC or DC -36 to -75 VDC supplies, with PoE+ capability of 450 W depending on options. The chassis is 2U.

Routing, switching, security and SIP features need no additional licensing, while the IPS filter is an optional HPE subscription. The router accepts HMIM, SIC and DSIC modules, voice processing modules, SFP transceivers in the Gigabit SFP ports and the Open Application Platform module. It runs HPE Comware software and is managed through HPE Intelligent Management Center.

FAQs

Q: Does the MSR3044 need additional feature licences?
A: No. Integrated routing, switching, security and SIP features need no additional licensing. The IPS filter is an optional HPE subscription.

Q: How many power supplies does it take and what input is supported?
A: It has 2 power supply slots and at least one power supply must be fitted. Power supplies cannot be mixed. Input is 100-240 VAC or -36 to -75 VDC depending on the supply chosen.

Q: Can it provide cellular WAN backup?
A: Yes. Optional 3G/4G LTE SIC modules can be installed to give WAN resilience alongside the wired uplinks.

Q: What expansion modules does it accept?
