Description

The FlexNetwork HSR6600 series HSR6602-G is a 2U services WAN router built on a multi-core network processor. It is aimed at small-to-medium campus WAN edge and aggregation roles and high-end branch deployments, combining routing, MPLS/VPN, security and a modular interface slot for WAN and LAN connectivity.

This SKU provides 4 x GbE combo (SFP/RJ-45) ports, 2 GB SDRAM and 512 MB compact flash, with forwarding of up to 9 Mpps on 64-byte packets and an 80 Gbps switch fabric. It supports routing and forwarding tables of 1,000,000 entries for both IPv4 and IPv6. It differs from the HSR6602-XG, which adds two SFP+ 10GbE ports, 4 GB SDRAM and 15 Mpps. One or two internal AC or DC power supplies can be fitted, with a maximum power rating of 300 W.

The single service module slot takes FIP-10 (JG357A) or FIP-20 (JG358A) modules, which host MIM interface modules for Fast Ethernet, GbE, 10GbE, POS/CPOS and ATM connections. Supported 1G SFP transceivers include JD061A, JD062A, JD063B, JD103A, JD098B and JD099B.

FAQs

Q: Does this router need a separate software licence?
A: The product documentation lists no separate software licence for this model. The JC180A router software LTU applies only to the 6604, 6608 and 6616 chassis.

Q: What power supplies does it use?
A: At least one internal power supply must be fitted, and up to two of the same type can be used for redundancy. Supported options are the JC087A 300W AC and JC090A 300W DC supplies.

Q: Which modules fit the expansion slot?
A: The service module slot accepts FIP-10 (JG357A) or FIP-20 (JG358A) modules only. These host the MIM interface modules used for additional WAN and LAN connectivity.

Q: Which SFP transceivers does it work with?
A: The combo ports support the 1G SFP transceivers JD061A, JD062A, JD063B, JD103A, JD098B and JD099B.

Q: How does it differ from the HSR6602-XG JG354A?
