The HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus is an ultra-compact tower server designed for small businesses, branch offices, and edge deployments. Powered by Intel Xeon E or Pentium processors with up to 32GB DDR4 ECC memory, it supports four 3.5-inch LFF SATA drives with S100i software RAID and features quad 1GbE networking. Its space-saving design can be placed horizontally or vertically, making it ideal for file storage, virtualization, and general-purpose workloads in resource-constrained environments.

Q: Does this server support remote management out of the box?
A: No, the MicroServer Gen10 Plus requires the optional iLO Enablement Kit (P13788-B21) to activate HPE iLO 5 remote management features including out-of-band management and the dedicated iLO port. Without this kit, only in-band management is available.

Q: What RAID levels are supported with the S100i controller?
A: The embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID supports RAID 0 and RAID 1 in Windows environments only. The S100i operates in UEFI mode and does not support Linux or VMware for RAID. For hardware RAID or RAID 5, an add-on PCIe controller like the E208i-p is required.

Q: Can I use this server for virtualization workloads?
A: Yes, the MicroServer Gen10 Plus supports virtualization with Intel Xeon E processors and up to 32GB ECC memory. For VMware ESXi deployments, configure the SATA controller in AHCI mode rather than RAID mode, as the S100i software RAID is not compatible with ESXi.

Q: What type of memory is required?
A: The server requires ECC UDIMM DDR4 memory only. Non-ECC UDIMMs, RDIMMs, and LRDIMMs are not supported. Memory speed support depends on the installed processor, with support up to 2666 MT/s for Xeon E processors and 2400 MT/s for Pentium processors.

Q: What processors are compatible with this server?
A: The MicroServer Gen10 Plus supports LGA1151 Intel Xeon E-2200 series processors (such as E-2224, E-2234) and Intel Pentium Gold G5400 series processors (such as G5420). These deliver between 2 and 4 cores with built-in security features and performance suitable for small business applications.
