FAQs

Q: Which X2 optics can I use on the 10G uplinks?
A: The X2 slots accept standard 10G X2 optics such as 10GBASE-SR (850 nm), LR (1310 nm), and ER (1550 nm), as well as CX4 where supported. Reach depends on the optic and cable used.

Q: Does this model provide PoE on the 1G ports?
A: No. The access ports are data-only (non‑PoE).

Q: What software licenses are supported?
A: The platform supports IP Base and IP Services licenses under Cisco IOS. IP Services adds advanced dynamic routing and additional L3 features.

Q: Is IPv6 supported?
A: Yes. IPv6 features and routing depend on the installed IOS feature set (IP Base vs IP Services) and software release.

Q: Can I manage the switch via SSH?
A: Yes. Secure management via SSH and HTTPS is supported when enabled and properly configured.
