Description

The vEdge 2000 is a 1RU Viptela OS SD-WAN router for large enterprise branch, campus and data-centre edge sites. It provides secure site-to-site connectivity over any mix of WAN transports within the Cisco SD-WAN overlay, and is managed through the SD-WAN fabric.

This AC router base chassis has four fixed 1GE SFP traffic ports and two Pluggable Interface Module (PIM) slots, which accept a 2 x 10GE SFP+ or an 8 x 1GE SFP module. A separate 10/100/1000 RJ-45 port handles management. It delivers 1 Gbps unidirectional IMIX forwarding throughput including encryption, with hardware-based IPSec crypto acceleration, 8 GB DDR3 ECC DRAM and 8 GB internal NAND.

Power comes from dual hot-swappable AC supply slots running in active-active redundancy on 100-240 V input, with typical consumption of 125 W. Front-to-back airflow and redundant hot-swappable fan trays suit rack deployments. It works with the PIM-2X10GE-SFP+ and PIM-8X1GE-SFP modules, and VIP-SFP-1GE-BASET, VIP-SFP-1GE-LX and VIP-SFP-1GE-SX pluggable SFPs.
