Description

This 480GB M.2 SATA boot SSD is based on the Solidigm S4520 and is designed for the Cisco Unified Edge platform. It is orderable for the Cisco UCS XE130c M8 compute node in the UCSXE-9305 chassis and serves as the operating system boot device for edge and branch deployments.

The drive uses the M.2 form factor with a SATA 6Gb/s interface and a 1X endurance class, with a capacity of 480GB. It connects through the compute node's M.2 SATA RAID controller (UCSXE-M2-HWRD2), which supports RAID 1 and JBOD. On the XE130c M8, M.2 drives are installed in pairs and capacities cannot be mixed, so a matched pair of these drives provides mirrored boot under RAID 1. This SKU is the 480GB option, while UCSXE-M2240OA1V is the 240GB sibling.

The host platform boots in UEFI mode only, and drive replacement is not hot-plug, so the compute node must be powered off first. Volume and drive configuration and monitoring are supported through Cisco Intersight. This is a Unified Edge part and is not interchangeable with the UCSX- (X-Series) or UCS-M2 (C-Series) boot drives.
