Description

The QLogic QLE2872 is a dual-port Gen 7 Fibre Channel host bus adapter in Cisco's UCS portfolio, built to connect UCS servers to a Fibre Channel SAN. It suits storage-heavy virtualisation and database hosts that need high-speed, low-latency access to shared block storage.

Each of the two ports supports 16, 32 and 64G Fibre Channel, so the adapter can be deployed into existing 16G or 32G fabrics today and move to 64G switching later without changing the card. The adapter uses a PCIe form factor and is the Enhanced PCIe HBA variant for UCS XE-Series servers.

The sibling part UCSC-P-Q7D64GF is specified for UCS C240 M7 rack servers as a half-height, half-length, single-slot card for Riser 1, 2 or 3. The same QLogic adapter firmware appears in the UCS XE-Series M8 server firmware bundle.
