Description

This 3.8TB U.3 NVMe SSD is built for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes. It is a Micron 7500 PRO class drive in the FIPS self-encrypting variant, suited to regulated and security-sensitive environments such as government, where hardware-based encryption at rest is required. It also serves general-purpose and read-intensive local storage workloads in X210c M8 and X215c M8 nodes.

The drive uses a 2.5-inch, 15mm U.3 form factor with a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe interface. It delivers up to 6,800 MB/s sequential read and 5,300 MB/s sequential write, with up to 1,100,000 IOPS for 4KB random reads and 180,000 IOPS for 4KB random writes. Endurance is rated at 1 DWPD, or 7,008 TBW. Typical latency is 70 us for reads and 15 us for writes. Power draw averages 15.5 W during sequential reads and 18.3 W during sequential writes. This SKU is the 3.8TB FIPS SED version and differs from the non-FIPS UCSX-NVB3T8M2V.

The drive is listed as supported for Cisco UCS X210c M8 and X215c M8 compute nodes and requires an NVMe passthrough or RAID front mezzanine controller in the node. No licence is required for the drive itself, and it is managed through Cisco Intersight.
